“Revelation” on Atomic Fire Records is the great discographic comeback of the Swedish band Siena Root, one of the best groups of hard psych rock inspired by the 1970s. In a career spanning over fifteen years, the Swedish band has carved out an important place for itself in the high quality musical undergrowth, becoming one of the most respected and loved bands in the latitudes of psychedelic-tinged hard rock.
Much of their strength comes from being very diverse musically, both in the band and in their backgrounds, and also their great ability to blend together, always offering something different.
And this is precisely the case with ‘Revelation’, one of the most versatile and successful records in their musical collection. The band often composes from long jams and this can be heard very well in their music, and in this work the composition is really on another level. The seventies to a large extent and also the sixties play a major role here, but there is not an ounce of imitation, Siena Root start there but then the subsequent development is all their own work, and it is great magic.
The sounds drift skywards like coils of smoke, the marvellous voice of Zubaldia Solid, who also plays keyboards, is very special and almost unique and literally transports us to other musical dimensions, where everything is more rarefied and at the same time more physical.
Siena Root’s sound is very psychedelic but also possesses strong elements of hard rock, and all this blends together with great harmony. In both the more energetic and the more subdued moments, the band’s personality is always well defined and leads to a great result and enjoyment for the listener.
The Swedish quartet has practically never made a mistake with a record, and with this test they raise the bar even higher, with a test from very high faces, captivating everyone with a sensual, sinuous and very full sound that makes you dream and fly high.
